The Lebanon Mountain Trail, a long-distance hiking trail that stretches for over 440 kilometers, allows visitors to explore the country's natural beauty and encounter its diverse flora and fauna. Lebanon's cultural scene is vibrant and diverse, with a thriving arts and music scene. The capital city, Beirut, is known for its lively nightlife, trendy cafes, and bustling markets. Although bears are occasionally seen in the mountains, few large wild animals survive in Lebanon. In addition to the smaller animals like wildcats, hedgehogs, squirrels, martens, dormice, and hares, the diverse wildlife in the area also includes various bird species such as flamingos, pelicans, cormorants, ducks, herons, owls, woodpeckers, eagles, buzzards, kites, falcons, hawks, kingfishers, cuckoos and woodpeckers. These birds add a vibrant touch to the local ecosystem with their melodious songs and colorful plumage.
