São Domingos is a city in Cape Verde, in the island of Santiago. It is the seat of the municipality of São Domingos of the same name. The concelho is located on the southeastern part of the island of Santiago. The eastern and central parts are covered by agricultural land, where water run-off from the center of the island allows for higher water tables and more loamy soils than the dense clay of much of the island. The western boundary is dominated by mountains where the steep topography and lack of rainwater run-off make large-scale agriculture impractical. There are dozens of subsistence villages along the main road to Assomada, but these villages produce negligible quantities of agricultural produce for export. The municipality consists of two parishes, one of Nossa Senhora da Luz and the other of São Nicolau Tolentino.
