Wadi Mayh

Wadi Mayh can certainly be called a geological wonder. From the breathtaking natural beauty of the landscape to the variety of flora including flowers, date palms, as well as trees bearing lemons, mangoes and pomegranates, along with streams of fresh water, this picturesque place is certainly a tourist's delight. Wadi Mayh is a remarkable long valley located between Yiti and Sifah, adjacent to the highway to Quriyat. In the western section of the valley, there is a sprawling mountain range that appears to have been intricately carved with numerous layers formed during different geological periods, resembling a colossal rock art exhibition. This breathtaking scenery is adorned with small streams and pockets of fresh water, displaying an intense turquoise hue. Additionally, two villages are strategically positioned on the periphery of the wadi, nestled in the heart of the valley. Tucked away between the mountains is the village that has several archaeological and geological sites. It also has tombs, old houses and some examples of ‘rock art’. As you reach Wadi Al Mayh you can see an open plain surrounded by high mountains. The towering limestone cliffs form a canyon and the multicolored layers of rock make it even more appealing. Wadi Al Mayh offers a unique opportunity for visitors to witness the geological wonders of the region, providing valuable insights into the natural processes that have shaped the landscape over millions of years. The stunning rock formations, vibrant vegetation, and tranquil water bodies create a remarkable setting for educational and recreational activities.
