Terelj National Park, located in Mongolia, is a stunning natural reserve that offers a variety of attractions and activities for visitors. The park is easily accessible from Ulan Bator, thanks to a well-maintained paved road that connects the two. Terelj National Park is divided into two parts. The tourist zone, officially located in the Nalaikh düüreg area of the Ulaanbaatar Municipality, is the southern portion of the park that is developed for tourism. The rest of the protected zone, which stretches north of the Terelj River, falls within the Mongolian province of Töv. This untouched area of the park remains largely undeveloped and provides a more rugged and adventurous experience. The park boasts several remarkable attractions that showcase its natural beauty. Khagiin Khar Lake, an awe-inspiring glacial lake located 80 km upstream from the tourist camps, is a must-visit destination. With its crystal-clear waters and a depth of 20 meters, it offers a serene and tranquil atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. Another natural wonder within the park is the Yestii Hot Water Springs, situated 18 km upstream. For those interested in cultural and spiritual experiences, Terelj National Park is also home to a Buddhist monastery that warmly welcomes visitors. The park is home to a diverse range of animals and bird species. Brown Bears roam the park's forests, while over 250 species of birds can be spotted, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. The Tuul River, which flows through the park, adds to its natural charm. Rock climbers will find the park to be a haven for their adventurous pursuits. It boasts numerous rock formations, including two famous ones named Turtle Rock and Old Man Reading a Book.
