Victoria is a town and fishing village located in the parish of St. Mark, on the west coast of the island nation of Grenada. In terms of area and population, St. Mark Parish is the smallest parish on the island. Victoria is the center of activities for the St. Mark's Parish, including the St. Mark's Fiesta, which showcases various products, foods, culture, music and entertainment throughout the St. Mark's villages. St. Mark's Day is usually held a couple of weeks after Easter in the middle of April. The parish is home to Grenada's highest mountain, Mt. St. Catherine, and its highest waterfall, Tufton Hall Falls. The Sunset City Food Fest is a monthly event created by the Village of Victoria. This activity was created to improve the quality of life for the people of Victoria and to provide a common place where the community can come together. It was created in 2007 following Hurricane Ivan, which resulted in the loss of 250 nutmeg-related jobs. To date, the Food Fest has been held on the last Saturday of each month, but the goal is to make it a bi-weekly event. Using local ingredients, the vendors offer Grenadian cuisine. Among the dishes are cakes, figs, breadfruit, farine, jacks and other fish, the Grenada oil-down, rotis, calaloo soup, crabs, conches, tania log, which is a porridge made in the traditional manner from root crops, and ice cream.
