Concord Falls

The Concord Waterfalls is not one, but rather three waterfalls. It is situated on the fringe of the forest reserve on the west side of the island, and the water is therefore crystal clear and ice-cold. Out of the three waterfalls in this zone, the first one is the most easily reachable and the most frequently photographed, since a paved road leads almost right up to it. The second waterfall of the three is larger and higher and can be accessed after a 45-minute trek. The path leads through a nutmeg plantation and is well marked, so a guide is not essential. Nevertheless, a tour with a guide who can identify the different types of plants and their uses is well worthwhile. The third waterfall is slightly off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. The water cascades down a 65-foot cliff into a crystal-clear pool at Fontainbleu.
