The Goderdzi Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass at an elevation of 2,027 meters above sea level, which lies on the border between the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia. The pass is located in the south of the country, and the scenic road to the summit is called the Batumi-Akhaltsikhe Road. It is for the most part unpaved and open to all motorized vehicles, but it is highly recommended for heavy-duty four-wheel drive vehicles, and in the winter time or in case of bad weather, it can be closed. The road is lined with cows, landslides and waterfalls. And at the top of the hill there are hotels, restaurants, and even a mosque. The pass is the highest spot on the road, which is 79.4 km long and runs in a west-east direction from Khulo to Akhaltsikhe. In the vicinity of the Goderdzi Pass you can find the Green Lake at an altitude of 2058 meters above sea level. From the local shop at the Goderdzi Pass there is a good 5-6 km paved road to the lake. The lake has a natural green color and is a perfect place to relax and swim when there is no fog, which often accompanies hiking here.
